You are right, but C-96 were a German product, made in Germany and sold also to the Chinese market, so they had to write "Made in Germany" in ideograms.

Instead, being a bit of a purist, (I know I'm a bit boring too) it turns my guts to see a 1911 with "made in China" (or even in Switzerland, or Italy if you prefer) written on it!
