Eric, it's probably a matter of supply and demand.

Quite a few beautiful Swiss Lugers have come onto the marketplace in the last coupld of decades. The Swiss maintained their pistols beautifully, and then made them available to retiring officers. The officers often purchased them and either put them away, or then sold them to dealers. Several maor Luger dealers imported them into the USA.

i personally like the Swiss Lugers quite a bit, and have managed to acquire one of each major variation. If you like precision, take a look at the Luger's replacement, the SIG P210.

It makes me think that while the Germans were quite focused on precision manufacture, the Swiss were obsessed with it!
