1912 Erfurt P 08 - 3 unit markings on grip with modified Reichs revolver hol
A nice early Erfurt with some history for sure; complete with a Reichs revolver holster modified for use with the then "new" P 08. Note the toggle axle pin has the pressure proof eagle on this early P 08. The magazine is mismatched but has the correct double acceptance marking; each grip screw is also acceptance marked. Hold open has been added to this pistol.
Probably the first grip marking was the 108.S.7.22.; I believe the 108 Saxon Regiment 7th Co..
Next likely the 12. T. S. 3. 208 for the 12th Co. 3rd (?) Sanitaets Train. Both of these were canceled.
Uncanceled: 98. R 10. 6. ; 10th Co., weapon 6, Metzer Inf. Reg. 98 of the XVI. Army Corps(Thanks Klaus).
The holster has a 1909 date in side on the flap, and a Regiment marking I can't make out from revolver service.
Note the amount of work that went into the modification; it is amazing to me that such modification work was worthwhile. Some of the stitching is in white and most in Mercurochrome coated thread.
