That's very interesting. I have a "36" HK that has, from the receiver, the bore diameter, the proof and then the serial number, all perpendicular to the bore axis. The diameter is readable from the front and the serial from the rear. It has been examined by a well known Luger expert and declared to be 100% correct. How could there be such a different marking orientation when only some 600 were made?
Please help me to understand this apparent conflict.
