Hi Dan! It is well known fact that the Germans used WWI Holsters and Lugers in WWII, so it makes perfect sense to me that nearly any serviceable holster would be a possible match to any Luger.

For the purist, or dealer that is trying to make an extra buck or two on a so called "Rig", then the holster should have the same year as the holster. To me this is just hype!! IMHO

One would have to argue that the "Rig" should have a matching magazine and matching spare magazine as well as the properly marked tool, as well. You don't see this condition too often!
