Darius.Original German Artillery and Navy Stocks were made of a European walnut. You need to know what it looks like.
The iron is cast. Originals were machined. Subtle differences but it's all in the details you need to recognize.
Hole placement..Original German stocks had 4 holes placed correctly for the top closure and attachment stock strap. Anytime you see them placed as funky as these are you know something isn't right.
The shape of the wood..this wood is incorrectly shaped. Subtle but you can see it. There are a half dozen other little tells but once you get a good look at an original stock in your hands..they will pop out like a herpes sore on your date.
