Craig,
don't take the investment angle too seriously. There is a price to pay for entertainment too. If you are a collector, then enjoying the history of the gun and just having it has certain rewards. Then there are doubts about buying and selling Lugers too. I recently found a beautiful 1914 Erfurt with a matching mag. I passed on it. But I am still wondering if I did the right thing by passing. I'll probably wonder about it for a long time. Rarely do I sell a Luger and I usually kick myself for doing it.

But if you are into it just to make a quick buck then the Luger is a pricey way to do it.
