Heinz is absolutely correct. 3rd Battery/ Artillery Regiment 6. weapon 36.

Does the ser# on the front of the frame have a lower case script letter a or b? Or is the letter suffix letter absent? If so, it is one of only 8 to 10 thousand procured by the German Army (Riechswehr).
