Long-time lurker, first-time poster here...
A friend's been asked to help ID and sell some inherited guns, and came to me for advice. I'm a bit familiar with military Lugers (I have a BYF 41), but I know little about commercial Lugers, which it appears this one is.
It's a .30 Luger, with DWM on the receiver, Germany and an N with a crown on one side, SN 8330. There's another mark under the barrel that looks like the "r" on the letter suffixes, but I didn't get a picture of that, and there's no mag, though all the other external parts match.
The machining/polish is a bit rough, with a matte black finish rather than a polished blue, but the finish is not particularly worn.
So, a few questions:
What's the approximate date for this, and any other interesting info that can be pulled from the photos?
What would be a reasonable price range to expect to get for this?
Are the mags the same for 9mm and .30 Luger?
I appreciate any info on this piece.
Thanks,
Max
