The sling is very much alike the one we use on A3 rifles here in Norway. Put the head and right arm trough the loop and adjust it with the metal keeper.
If you are skiing or "on alert" it's a great way to carry a rifle.. I think the picture by Stymie is right. (If the sling is long enough to carry it that way)
