George is right about the fire blueing, but age and condition of the artillery may have dulled the fire blueing so that it looks like old, dull, rust blueing. The front blade should have been fire blued and, if it is an adjustible front sight, the screw should also be fire blued. If your rear sight is adjustible, then that screw should also be fire blued. The grip screws, toogle hinge pin and all internal pins were also fire blued. The internal pins may not have been fire blued for appearance so much as to have been case hardened. Internal pins also includes the toogles connecting pin and the extractors pin.
