We have received information from a bidder that indicates a possibility that this may not be an authentic Luger stock. Here is the bidder's message in full: "I think the luger stock you are showing is in fact be a post-WWII stock manufactured to go with reproduction model guns manufactured in Japan. The guns were all metal and could be functioned with dummy rounds and/or blank firing rounds. The stocks (I've seen several with stocks identical to the one you show) were well made, with a stamped metal attaching iron whereas authenic attaching irons are milled from solid steel forgings. The model stocks would attach to the model BUT NOT TO A REAL LUGER due to restrictions on marketing the model stock and gun -- to prevent violation of BATF rules about making a prohibited short-barreled rifle. (The rule was later relaxed for certain curios & relics.) You may want to alert potential buyers that the stock may not attach properly to a P08 (Luger) since the latching was deliberately designed to prevent use with a real Luger pistol -- but it will attach to the model gun."
