It seems you have a recently imported Erfurt made in 1918, and most if not all of your assumptions are valid.<br />

The example photo I have included should look just like your Luger with the exception of the wooden grips (which is what they should be) and the magazine (which as shown here is a WW2 FXO model mag)<br />

Your Luger has more than likely been dip reblued, but it sounds like you have found a fine Luger for little money.<br />

The prefered ammo is 124 gr full metal jacketed ball, but each Luger has its own personality and may function with any variety of available ammo. You will have to experiment. Most find that these fine pistols are remarkably easy to shoot and they are accurate. The grips have apparently been replaced by East German plastic stocks, and the gun was likely an EG Police issue.<br />

The fact that there are no apparent Third Reich proof marks does not mean that the gun wasn)
