I've been out of town and I'm just getting to this.
As you've been told, for an experienced shooter, the recoil is practically negligible. I do find the blast from smaller caliber, faster moving calibers to be rather sharp. Some powders are worse than others for decibel levels.
In general the 9mm Luger is a *****cat to shoot.
