Articles in today's papers (including the Wall Street Journal and the San Francisco Chronicle)address this issue. The US has officially raised objections to the UN's draft action and has critized the organization's small arms trafficking conference that began today as "overreaching."
In calling for a world-wide ban, the UN has classified "small arms" and "light weapons" to include everything from revolvers to heavy machine guns. If this action were to succeed it would certainly have an impact on our hobby not to mention infringing on our second-amendment rights. I don't think this should be considered "off limits" to discussion - I doubt there are any Luger collectors on this forum who are willing to turn in or make in-opertable their firearms and give up their second-amendment rights. Am I wrong about this? mm
