Mike,
just to shed some light of the subject. The LP-08 is a model 1914 artillery, but this is a collectors web site and collectors will refer to the their artilleries by the chamber date and not the model number. The exception would be the Erfurt artillery which only has the 1914 chamber date. It is commonly refered to as just an Erfut artillery. Other LP-08's or "Lange Pistol 08's " which would be exceptions would be the Thai and the Persian artilleries which were produced in the mid 1930's. In these two exceptions, collectors would refer to them as Persian or Thai artilleries and never as 1914 DWM's. When you refered to your artillery as a 1914 DWM, the collectors on this forum thought you were refering to a chamber dated 1914 DWM which is a highly sought after and comparatively expensive prize among collectors. Not all artilleries are equal with collectors, so calling an artillery by it model code wouldn't be correct. I hope this helps you understand the temperment of some of the replies. You inadvertantly perked up a lot of ears here, including mine. Its a bit like coin collecting where the date and the mint mark means so much. I hope this helps you.
