A rare 1917/1920 Weimar Simson reworked Navy that I recently aquired.

Out of approximately 160 Weimar Navy reworks reported on pg 204-205 of Still's Weimar Lugers. Only one is a Simson rework.

Only about 4000 Lugers were in Navy service at the end of the Weimar Era. Of these only approx. 2000 bear N or O property numbers.(Still's Weimar Lugers pg 39.)

The bummer is that it is dipped and import marked, so it's going to get a limited restoration. It's all matching and in excellent condition with the exception of the side plate and trigger which are #97 and #18 respectively.

The ser# and navy markings have been shaved and the ser# has been pantographed back on.

The Weimar 1920 property stamp is very deeply struck. Much deeper than the original 1917 date.

The barrel bears the Simson rework proofs E/O and a U over a 5. Which I have not been able to confirm. It is not in Costanzos that I can find.

Note that the Navy large flange toggle pin has been replaced with a small flange pin. Indicating that the cannon is indeed an original navy piece.

Grip strap is unit marked to the Ostsee Station at Kiel.

I am in need of a Imperial DWM side plate #83 and a trigger #83 as well as a Navy large flange toggle pin. If anyone knows of a source or runs across these parts. I would be very interested and appreciative.
