Tony, In my humble opinion, this appears to be the real thing and is priced a little bit below the market. Condition is everything, as you can see by viewing the ones posted by Simpson LTD. Most fastidious collectors would shy away from this but the price is reasonable for a representative piece. The question is whether one could get more for it if restored by the likes of Ted Greene (Thor on the Forum). I would think so. There are currently two restored 1902 AE fat barrels listed on the now going Rock Island Auction (Lots 2008 ansd 2014) asking range $4K - $7K. So if you can buy this puppy for $2.6K, pay the fee for restoration (unknown to me), you might come out ahead. That would be if you are in this to make money. All this is my $0.02 cents worth, I'm looking forward to other opinions.
