many times the Medallion you speak of was added by a soldier to dress-up his "prize he brought back from the war. Normally this does no add any value to the rig unless there is some type documentation about it. Also, it normally does not detract from the value if the holster is sold with the pistol. If the holster was sold seperatly, the value of the holster would drop by approx. 25%. Crazy, but true when something is added to the holster.
Many of the WWI pistols were used during WWII. The recent imported Lugers from Russia contained a number of the WWI dated pistols.
