I have had several dealings with the seller and he is a straight-up fellow.

If I had $ 10K free that I wanted to spend on paper (I think I would rather buy 2-3 Swiss lugers instead...), I would ask the seller to provide certified statements in writing from the Swiss government and the Bern/Thun museum folks and/or the Bern patent office folks that they would not contest such a sale. Think I would involve a lawyer and some State Dept. folks as well.

This is not mentioned to impune the integrity of the seller. Andrew is beyond reproach.

Rather, I would hope a prospective buyer would not experience the same heartache that Mike Krause experienced last year when buying and then returning the B-L # 5, when the Swiss authorities contested the sale and took actions/steps to have the pistol returned to CH...
