tenbears, well, the medals with the gun, makes for one heck of a nice display! I think you could ask for his service record, see what the Silver Star was for? A Bronze Star can be gotten for doing something interesting but not dangerous, but usually a Silver Star is not just given away...
I asked for and received some basic info on a soldier that I had his serial number.
