The markings "Pw.B." are the markings for the Bavarian Police Defense Force, or, Polizeiwehr Bayern. According to Goertz, German Small Arms Markings, the force was organized in 1920 and disbanded shortly thereafter as it was judged by the Allies to be a paramilitay organization founded to circumvent the provisions of the Versailles treat.
