Just my $0.02, but I think the letter in question is not a "1", but a lower case "l". If you look at the 2 letters I just typed, the "one" has a downward slope to the tail (just like the 1 on the mag, while the "ell" has a straight tail. I realize that my pic is not too clear, but my X does not completely obliterate the top of the letter.
Also, another observation - several of the "S.L.Pol." specimens I have seen here have a serial number suffix, but mine has no number. Is there any significance to that?
