I replied to a question in the P08 military forum and Mr. Tinker suggested I start a new topic so here it is...
My Luger is a 1917 DWM, double dated 1920. The original police markings are: "S.L.Pol." and this is x'd out. It also has the mark: "S.P. L."
I apologize for the picture quality. That's the best I could do. In the pics the grips and mag are after-market. The mag that came with the gun was an aluminum base with waffenampt and the original grips were well-worn walnut. Both were put aside for safe-keeping.
Regardless to what I said originally, it DOES have a sear safety (I just did some research and learned a bit about that...lol).
I bought it about 5 years ago from a small local dealer who was selling off his personal collection. He said it was a WWII vet bringback but I have no proof of the provenance.
Any comments would be appreciated. TIA
