I had a one shot contest with a blowhard with a scoped model 70 .243 at 100 yards on a smallbore rifle target. My gun was a stock flattop Ruger 44 Magnum--iron sights. We both shot offhand since he was getting ready to set up sandbags and I teased him that they would be unfair against me shooting one handed offhand. I shot first--a 9 at 4 o'clock. He was so shook up as his rifle swayed back and forth that he missed.
A lot of fun watching him--he couldn't believe my shot (admittedly pretty lucky).
