I've got a National Guard buddy who was an armorer at a maintenance center. Through normal business he got to know the folks at Anniston Army Depo. Volunteered when down there to help. Took a while,(years)of helping and he is a very good armorer, but they hand carried his CMP applications thru and allowed him to pick his guns from the vaults. I've seen them. He has an unfired 1903 w/all accessories incl bayonet, an 030A3 the same, a Winchester M-1, and an IH MIC.
Last night on "Histories Mysteries" was the gangster gun special. Showed the result of the Gun Act of 1934, two guys on a boat full of guns
were using coal scoops to load up pistols and dump them in the ocean. Imagine whant went under. I'll probably take the Japanese guns out today, I'll wear the helmet and see if that helps me understand what the guns say to me. I'm no good in Japanese. And I'll pass on a replay of the Hummer, that really hurt.
