I remember reading several years ago in Soldier Of Fortune magazine (forgive me my past reading habits) that several 1911 diehards at a convention wanted to test the theory. The tale went something like - jump in pool, make sure to shake all bubbles out of your Colt, 1911's will fire and cycle everytime, spent bullets can be recovered in near perfect condition. One man's fun is another man's foolishness.
