Edmond and others,

Thanks for the info. I am curious about the topic, but too cheap to spend many $$ to find the answer. I guess if the situation arises, I'll try the 6 shot bumpstick instead of debating underwater monsters.

I suspect the range would be very limited because firing into water (from out of the water) doesn't give much penetration. Also, the shock wave might even be a help as it would affect the monster as well as the shooter.

Edmond, the Glock and 1911 info. gives me hope. I would guess that a revolver wouldn't have the same firing pin problem that a Glock might have underwater. Maybe I'll try the Ruger with a primed case only when I'm ready for a major cleaning job.
