Hi Guys:

Here is another one.

My dad, a Paratrooper in the 509th Parachute Infantry Battalion in WWII loved the Luger. He always carried one in those baggy jump trousers.

One week, food rations were short because the troops had outrun the supply lines serving them. Being a county boy, Dad sought local game to supplement the rations.

Seeing a Red Elk at a distance of some 150 yards, Dad fired one off and dropped the animal in its tracks. The Elk had been hit in the head, directly behind the ear. The troops ate well that night!!
