Gentlemen, Thank you all for your kind comments. I do appreciate them.

Wes, The problem I have in re-creating a 1900 holster for you is at least twofold. I have no pattern from which to work so the project would be more difficult and less acurate than I would desire. The accuracy issue is foremost in my mind as all the work I do must at least approximate if not duplicate actual dimensions in all respects and use period methods of construction. The second part of this problem which pretty much precludes the first, is cost. Providing that I could come by actual measurements and perhaps hold an actual period holster in my hands the cost of duplicating a holster like this is high because of all the time involved. I was asked to make two baby Luger holsters last year and did so for two clients. The holsters were each different in size to fit different pistols. One Army and one Police. Each one took me over ten days to build. Not full time days of course but none the less it was quite a bit of time. I charged $600.00 for each. While this seems wildly expensive, even to me, I charged it because of the extreme time involved in building the molds and forms necessary to make a completely custom, smaller than normal, Luger holster. The two clients who purchased these were happy to get them as the pistols they plan to put into them cost $2000.00 and up and as far as I know I am the only person in the World who is willing to make Baby Luger holsters. I would look around and see if any commercial company is offering the holster you want in a reproduction model. That would be the cheapest route, if any are offered.

Hugh, I don't use any of the leathers you suggest because I have to shoot holes in them for my thread and the ammunition costs were getting out of hand...I'll bet you have ample acccess to armadillo in your neck of the woods!
