ED, I believe this to be a Weimar period conversion up till you get to the back belt loop and the closure snap. The snap is certainly not Weimar period and probably US , Norwegian or NATO. I cannot say for sure about the funky belt loop but it is not common on pre war period pieces. This is a period conversion gotten hold of by the Allies. Jerry Burney
