Took a closer look at this France-bound GNR holster a bit more today, on Sunday...(and am developing some remorse about my decision to be a nice guy... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> ). Actually, it will ship to France the early part of next week...

The back of the holster is stamped "GNR" and has a "1936" date stamp. The low-hanging belt loop was then attached over parts of these stamps with four (4) aluminum rivots. This blet loop is stamped "43" and also "21". I assume a date of 1943 and issue or property number "21"...?

But the odd thing is that from the inside of the holster, you can see "old" stitiching lines for a single, wide belt loop...i.e. like on the M2 holsters.

Looks like the GNR holsters used both styles of belt loops...???
