bernardg, I believe you'll find it's original but modified after the war to fit a web pistol belt such as the Americans used. I've seen the same style holsters offered on ebay from, I believe, Norway. From what I read (so please consider this hearsay until someone with more knowledge chimes in) the Norwegeans modified German equipment after the war to suit their needs, Luger holsters included.
