Jason, pictures help immensely in determining value, do you have a flat-bed scanner you can lay it on?

Anyway, from Jan's book, a 1917 DWM had a total of 90,000 lugers made, as yours is serial number 7571a, that would make it the 17571st luger made that year, (they made 10,000 without a suffix, then started on the enxt, through the "n" block.

The 8,82 is the land to land measurement of the barrel, showing that your barrel of the gun met tolerances and was accepted. (many parts were accepted in this way).
