I don't think that I have read this anywhere, but I haven't thought or cared either. Meaning that it hadn't occured to me [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

So, take all factors into consideration first.

1. Markings were stamped by hand, so I would expect some flucuation of how it is stamped.
2. How is yours marked?
3. What is the bluing in comparison to the entire gun? Matching, a bit off, or what?
4. Check for other indications, does it have the serial number on the barrel? Correct proofs and acceptance for the time period?

5. Can you post pictures of this marking?
