Hi TH. Thanks for the information, I really thought these were more common only because I've seen a few on the various forums before for sale. I have to do some serious educating on P08s.
Very good question regarding the legalities of owning this in Canada. Anything with a barrel length of 4 inches or less IS considered prohibited in Canada, and cannot be sold to anyone other than someone else who has been "grandfathered", i.e., owned a pistol with a barrel length of 4 inches prior to 1997 ( I think that is the correct year). I was by fluke fortunate enough to have owned a short barreled handgun in that time, which gives me the special class 12:6 to own such firearms. A couple things though, a new collector or someone who has not owned such a firearm prior to 1997 cannot ever, never ever legally own such a gun, period. Can never apply for this licence. So the govt here is working on a slow total ban. When I die, this can only be sold to a person with the same grandfathered class licence, but as time goes on, fewer people will be eligible, until no one is left, and such firearms will have to be surrendered and likely destroyed. If any other Canadian members are here perhaps they could give their input too, just to make sure I'm correct with the facts.
P.S.. the 8.81 stamped at the barrel's bottom, is this a calibre?? Sorry I am so uneducated on these. Thanks again, all!
