All I know about my son's gun is that a friend bought at a Houston gunshow in a Navy Arm's marked box that was serial numbered to the rifle.BYF 44 code. Had scope bases, but no rings or scope. It was in a hardwood stock, stamped floorplate and trigger housing, cup buttplate, milled front band. The gun was matching even though it looked like a hodge podge of parts. I would swear they were orignal numbers, not reworked. The guy that sold this gun had K98's stacked up in Navy Arms boxes. They were $179, even this one with the bases. Found a scope and rings. So right or wrong, it doesn't matter. Gun was cheap,so I restocked it to look better, just something for my kid to take out and beat up. <img src="graemlins/offtopic.gif" border="0" alt="[offtopic]" />
