Post Safety Lever Pin - Replacement

Gentlemen and Ladies:

Just received a replacement Safety Lever Pin for my Luger from Marstar Canada Inc. Part was sold as an orginal piece. The pin that came in the handgun was fractured into 2 pieces which I discovered when disassembling the weapon for the fist time. One end of the orginal pin has a slight bevel on it (wear?).

The replacement pin is (in round measurements) is about 5/8 inch long and has no bevel. The orginal pin (when fitted back together is about 1/8 inch shorter. The diameter appears correct. Before I start in with the Dremmel tool what should the correct length be? Should an end be beveled? If one end beveled, should it be the end pointing towards the trigger?

Any suggestions / advice very much appreciated.

Thank you,
