Just found this forum and expect to be back a lot...
Took my wife to a local shop to buy a second can of black powder. While there I showed her an artillery in the pistol case that I've been admiring. Her response? "why don't you get it?"
I filled out the paper work and left in a daze. Later I started getting my brain in gear and a lot of questions started popping up.
For starters, what parts should be straw color?
The piece is dated 1917 with ser. no. 1717 (thus parts are marked 17) The price? $1717 of course.
I invite opinions and my feelings are not easily hurt. I've pretty much made up my mind that I will keep it.
