Ron,

To add what Ed has suggested : I would also recommend John Walter's "The Luger Book". It is written in encyclopedia format which makes finding a specific reference or topic very easy.

Walter (a European) is at many times in disagreement with the well-known American luger authors, so it is great to get a dissenting opinion...

Finally; if you have interest in Swiss luger, Vittorio Bobba' book is a very good investment (usually around $ 100.00).
