Default Re: Welcome BIG NORM :)

Thanks everyone. I was turned on to this forum by Jerry Peters. And it is interesting to see all the pictures of everybodies trophies. I hope that everyone can tolerate my fat fingers on the keyboard. I am new to the internet and Jerry has been showing me a lot but I am a Mac user and he isn't. So I have to do a lot of translating between machines. I am a luger collector and a member of the O.G.C.A. with a C&A license. I also am a member of the National Automatic Pistol Collectors Association.

My interests are in the imperial luger era especially in the artillery (LP-08) and navy (P-04) Lugers. I have a few 1900AE's and a few 1906's. But I stray once in a while and so I have a couple of Kieghoff's. I am learly of Keighoff's because there is such a thriving cottage industry in that area and because Kreighoff lugers vary so much in standard. I have Gibsons book and believe that the photography is horrible and frequently worthless.

Right now I think that I have enough money invested in the guns themselves and so I am looking for magazines and stocks for the guns that I have. So you will probably see me a lot in the classifieds section. Lots of potential there. I am not to interested in holsters and have very few. People tell me That I am crazy for trying to return the babies to the mothers but I say that is what collecting is all about. Besides, I have met a lot of interesting people that way.

Although Jerry lives a long way from me, I frequently visit with him to brag about my collection and to mooch a free cup of coffee from him (often unsuccessfully).

I started out buying my first luger just for a gun to kill some trees at lunch time while deer hunting. My brother in California had bought a luger so I said to myself 'Why shouldn't I get a luger too'. After I bought my first luger a friend of mine took me to O.G.C.A. and I felt like a kid in a candy shop and the rest is history.

I am sorry for the length of this posting but I had read a few previous postings here about people not posting their profiles. I assumed that is what they were talking about.
