Frank,

The shape of the grips was modified in 1972 to resemble the old P08 shape. Was introduced on the 1973 version, but can also be found on some earliers 'halfbreed' pre-1973 versions. My 1972-dated 7.65 has the improved grip shape.

But as one of our members said, the fit and feel of the Mauser Parabellum grips is not as nice as that of the original P08.
