Take a look at a discussion that started in this same section on 2-18-04 by LugerLizzie, titled "Uploadng Picture Trouble...".
John D. posted a MS link to a free download file that allows for very easy and fool-proof "resizing" of large jpeg files. When you go to resize a photo, it even gives you different size options to make your photos a bit smaller until you can get under the size limits for photos here on the Luger Forum (i.e. 180 KB or smaller in size) as well as on other forums...
