Hi Pete,
Fully agree with you on the books 'Guisan' offers. I just got three of them, thanks to Frank, and I an quite happy with them.
1. Ha¼sler, 'Swiss handguns' (1975,German, French & English and therefore ideal as help for translations) - all pistols/revolvers from 1801 through SIG 220. Very detailed and lots of data.
2. Fred Datig, 'Monograph IV - The Swiss Variations 1897 - 1947' (1992 , English) All about the Paraballum from DWM through Bern. Lots of pics, also of rigs.
3. Huber, 'Hand und Faustfeuerwaffen' (1971 German) Edited by the Swiss Union of Shooters. A comprehensive tutorial about Swiss Army armament. From Napoleon and flintlocks to Sturmgewehr 57. Also all revolvers and pistols. Many data. To understand the German you need book # 1 too.
These books are normally obsolete - but Frank seems to have saved some copies.
Good reading...
