I have had several guns shipped direct to my doorstep here in California...signature required on delivery.

These have ALL been acknowledged C&R pistols...if they are not, they must be on the CA-DOJ list of guns that have passed the "drop test".

All but one seller were either a FFL dealer or a C&R holder. One private fellow who did not have a C&R used his local transfer FFL dealer to make the shipment to my home.

I have both my C&R Licence and my CA-State COE; which I send originally signed copies of to the seller before the shipment is made.

Once the gun is in my possession, I have 5 calendar days to fill-out a CA-DOJ "registration' form and mail it in with my $ 14.00 per gun fee. If I do more than one gun at the same time, the fee drops to $ 10.00 per gun. Usually 2-3 weeks later, I get a nice letter from the CA-DOJ thanking me for my registration and confirmation the gun is now in their database...I save all the paperwork for each gun, including the CA-DOJ letters. I also make the appropriate entries in my C&R "bound book"...

I have even made gun purchases out of state in person and then brought the gun into the state myself (either driving or flying...). Same routine with the CA-DOJ paperwork...

I have not used a transfer FFL dealer/shop for over 1.5 years, now...

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />
