I shall try my best to answer your questions using data I have obtained from other vintage sources as well as my personal theories:
1) According to the description in the catalog, the Maxim silencer is detachable. It probably locks around the front sight;
2) Sadly the survival rate of these carbines with a telescopic sight is extremely low or non-existent today, and probably very few were sold in the US as a result of its expensive cost. Apparently, this type of custom-made carbine was more expensive that a M1902 Luger Carbine and maybe PA customers were not interested with this type of unusual carbine for hunting or defense, even if PA made great claims about its performance and accuracy;
3) Although PA mentioned 'machine-gun' in the catalog, it does not appear that they provided or converted a Luger pistol/carbine into a full-automatic firearm. I assume they wanted to demonstrate the versatility of their custom made firearms or conversions using many different types of accessories;
4) I give credit to PA for making available a wide variety of accessories for the Luger pistol, and it shows/proves that PA had plenty of faith in the Luger firearm. Note item #38 on page 5 which is for a 100 round magazine! I cannot imagine the size of that magazine!
5) It is difficult to determine which other products PA offered after 1924, unless later catalogs are discovered, or similar catalogs from other retailers/resellers in the US are compared.
Whatever happens, do not dream too much about a .45 caliber Luger with silencer, scope, high capacity magazine etc!! Maybe it is 'healthy' to dream once in a while, but do not go overboard!
