The bears that we have are not quite as mean tempered as an Alaska grizzly (we have black bears). We have had a couple in the yard this year, but not at the door. They most usually are nosing around the racing pigeon loft. But just in case, I keep a S&W .44 mag for them to chew on should they come in the front door.
