Pete, I can only give you my take on this subject. One will find a magazine with the proper acceptance mark and suffix. Then grind (sand) off the original number and stamp the new "matching" number on the bottom.
This does two things. First, it cheats the potential buyer and second, screws up a perfectly good original magazine. It does do one other thing, it makes me angry!!!
