I really don't know the answer to your questions Pete...It has been more than a year since Mike Jones made me aware of the existence of the Krieghoff Letter... it was in his father's files...
I know that he occasionally visits the forum... perhaps he will see this thread and comment.
I don't know if Jan was aware of the letter at the time he wrote his book... if you get the chance to ask him, how about reporting back here. Jan is likely to be pretty busy restoring his website for a while but I am sure he will be responsive when he can. You might even invite him to comment on this thread Pete... His login to the forum hasn't changed... he just hasn't used it in a LONG while... I would welcome his participation.
