Hi Josh, I've used Militec-1 for a while on some uses, like you say it's a great "fairly dry" lube, doesn't attract dust etc.
Families have literally been sending Militec-1 to their sons etc. in Iraq as it works MUCH better than standard issue CLP in dusty sandy conditions, to prevent jamming / malfunctions.
One comment though, most any oil or lube will include "prevents rust" in their advertising info, and Militec-1 says this too, but it's NOT a great preservative, it's not a great rust-proofer.
I did my own salt water and fresh water spray tests using Militec along with BreakFree, Rem-Oil, Clenzoil, Sheath etc, and BreakFree and Rem-Oil did the best, Militec was pretty far down the list on what prevented corrosion in my own tests (and in tests I've seen from others, one was posted on this forum a while back).
Militec retains lubricating properties even when all the carrier is gone and after being "shot dry" etc, it's great for that, but I wouldn't use it as a preservative for collectibles.
Even for bore protection, I'd prefer a patch with Rem-Oil, it's a nice light oil that truly is pretty amazing at preventing corrosion. I'll be testing out this Eezox I just got in also...
